How to impress your DPE

• taxi on the center line
• keep the plane coordinated
• situational awareness (where is B or C airspace, etc)
• be ahead of the plane (e.g. set the anticipated frequencies)
• use checklist
• verbalize check on instruments (attitude indicator, turn coordinator, etc) during taxi.
• announce "airspeed alive" during take-off roll. (airspeed cannot be checked during taxi).

For instrument:

• Even after taking off the hood, try to stay on glide slope.
