  • Young: have gills, which take oxygen from water
  • Adult:
    • some live in water: retain their gills
    • some live on land:
      • some develop air-breathing lungs
      • some do not develop lungs and breath through skins instead

Species:

  • Salamanders / newts: most have 4 legs; begin life as legless, water-dwelling larvae with a finlike tail.
